Luciani Hired as Bloomingdale Interim Superintendent

Andrew Luciani will serve as the Bloomingdale school district's interim superintendent beginning July 1.

Andrew Luciani was hired as interim superintendent Monday. The board of education unanimously approved his hiring.

Luciani is slated to begin with the district on July 1 after leaving his current position as interim superintendent of the Prospect Park school district. Prior to working in Prospect Park, Luciani was retired for about two years.

Having worked as the superintendent of schools for the Wanaque school district for two years, Luciani also worked as the superintendent of the Moonachie school district for a little over a year. He also worked for a countywide school district in Florida, where he supervised an elementary, middle and high school.

Luciani said he learned about the Bloomingdale position after seeing current Superintendent Dr. Fredda Rosenberg at Passaic County meetings and speaking with her about the position. He said he is excited to work with the district and community in his new role.

Also during Monday's meeting, Frank Verducci, Jr. was approved to be hired as the principal.
