New Kinnelon Website Will Allow Parents to Access Student Info Online

Kinnelon Public Schools website gets a makeover.

Kinnelon Public Schools' new website may look different already, but soon it will allow for expanded functionality as the school district continues its website upgrades.

Interim Superintendent Diane DiGiuseppe spoke about the website changes at Thursday's Kinnelon Board of Education meeting.

"It should be live in everyone's house by the end of tonight," she said Thursday.

DiGiuseppe said the web developer was working through some glitches, but that the feedback had been mostly positive from users of the site. The one area that has not yet been fully restored are classroom pages.

"That's part of the web update, it's Phase 2," DiGiuseppe said.

The new site features separate access pages for staff members, parents and students, as well as other users. The school district website will also eventually link up to Pearson's PowerSchool system, allowing parents to access individualized information on students through the web.

"Every parent will get an access code, will create an account and will be able to see a child's schedule and have access to unique information away from the public," DiGiuseppe said.

The inclusion of PowerSchool into the district's web system will likely not be complete until the winter break or by January.
