Students Rewarded for Writing

PRM seventh graders participate in essay contest.

Several seventh graders were rewarded for an essay assignment not only with good grades, but with prizes from local businesses as well during a special assembly Friday.

For the assignment, English students were able to choose from the local businesses to write an essay about how their goods and services benefit the community. Business owners then each chose a first and second place winner. The business owners did not know the students' names, but chose the number of the best essay which teachers matched up to the students who were assigned them.

The participating businesses were , , , , , and Spa 23.
