Should the high school's new leader come from within the district?

Hopatcong Superintendent Dr. Charles Maranzano said the district has picked its top candidate to replace Emil Binotto as the 's prinicpal and that the Board of Education would vote on the matter Monday.

Though Maranzano , he said there were four finalists—two internal, two external.

That person would come from within. Just look at Newton HS the board bipassed the vp Tasker and hired outside the district . The new person was a disaster and left a year later after causing all kinds of problems at the HS. The next year they hired the loyal VP and things have improved. There is merit to someone who has put forth a commitment to an organization and takes ownership. I say if they want change make maranzano the lame duck he is and put Hallenback in as interim super. The principal should come from within and go to a solid loyal person who has shown commitment, we should learn from Newton's mistake.

They should eliminate the position. We have plenty of administration and cant afford more.

I believe our principal should be out of district because our last principal let a lot of things go and was really laid back. Though he was a great guy and supported the musical arts, we need someone who will crack down on a lot of rules that he simply turned a blind eye on. we don't need a drill sergent but it would be nice to have someone fresh keep order at our high school.
