Butler Softball Falls to Whippany Park, 8-0

On a beautiful Monday afternoon, the Butler softball team fell to Whippany Park 8-0.

The Butler High School softball team faced Whippany Park on Monday, falling 8-0 in a game that featured a dominated pitching performance by Whippany's Casey Reggiani.

IN SHORT
Whippany Park's Casey Reggiani pitched seven scoreless innings and the Bulldogs broke open a scoreless game in the third inning with two runs. Reggiani had seven strikeouts and only allowed three hits the whole game. They added two more over the next two innings then rallied for four innings in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.

The Butler Bulldog senior who had the team's first hit of the game, going 1-3 with a single.

The shortstop and leader of the Butler squad also helped turn a double play and made four other put outs on her own throughout the game.

Lindsay Walden (Butler), 1-for-3 with a single and a steal. She was the only Bulldog to reach third base; Brianna Certulo (Whippany Park), 2-2 with two runs scored; Taylor Triffiolis (Whippany Park), 3-for-3 with two RBIs, a double and two runs scored.
