Colts Out-Kick Bulldogs in Girls Soccer Game

Kinnelon wins against neighboring high school.

beat in girls soccer Thursday, 3-0.

The Colts came into this contest with wins against Morris Knolls and Whippany Park. Butler was 1-1 with a win against Hopatcong and a loss against Mountain Lakes. The Colts and Bulldogs were evenly matched for much of the game. The first half remained scoreless for the majority of time before the Colts finally scored.

Kinnelon players Tess Danglemejer, Emily Thiem and Casey Gray scored goals. Kinnelon's aggresiveness in the attack zone tipped the game in their favor. Butler was routinely out-muscled by Kinnelon's defense in front of the goal post.

IN SHORT

While there was no standout player, the Kinnelon Colts played better as a whole. Colts' Tess Danglemejer, Emily Thiem, and Casey Gray scored goals.

TOP OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCES

Scoring:
Kinnelon freshman Casey Gray showed plenty of hustle
on the field on offense and defense and scored the third goal of the game.

TOP DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCES

Kinnelon’s aggressiveness in general especially in the attack zone put the contest in their favor.

TOUGH OPPONENT

Despite losing the game, the Butler Bulldogs showed plenty of heart and kept the game scoreless for much of the first half.
