Girls Track Takes Eighth Place in Sectionals

A reminder that tomorrow is the deadline for Spring Sports Paperwork.

Also, Team and Individual Pictures for Basketball, Winter Track and Wrestling will take place tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. Order envelopes have been distributed to our student-athletes. 

Today- Swimming- Girls’ State Tournament vs. Caldwell at 2:30 p.m. at the Lakeland Hills YMCA.

Yesterday

Winter Track- Congrats to the girls team that took eighth in the North 1 Group 1 Sectional last night at Toms River. The team was lead by Heather Larsen who placed third in the 400 (62.6)  and anchored the 4x400  with teammates Britt Boykas, Karyn Anselmo and Aine Schanche to a fourth place finish with a time of 4:26. Allison Kriskewic placed fifth in the mile in a time of 5:38 and Marissa Rehberger vaulted 8 feet to capture a sixth. 

On the boys side, Troy Andretta took third in shot put with a throw of 47'10 and partner Christophe Vosatka took sixth with a throw of 42'6.5. All of these athletes have qualified for the Group 1 Championships next weekend.  

Congratulations to Luke Papendick for being named the Star Ledger NJ Boys’ Swimmer of the Week. 

Congratulations to Coach Johnson and the Academic Decathlon Team.

From Coach J-On Saturday, Feb. 4, KHS placed second in the Region II Academic Decathlon Competition and placed first as a Division III school. The regular team members were Ragad Abdelfatah, Christopher Czopinski, Shane Gregoire, Christopher Kline, Allison Leshik, JonJulian Minervini, Sudheesha Perera, Steven Polomski and Brian Toohey.  The alternates were Hanien Amer, Eric Bloomfield, Julia Mo, Sunaina Perera, Adam Polick, and Chethan Reddy. The team will be participating in the State Competition on Saturday, March 3, at Morris Knolls High School. 

The team thanks Mr. Guy Gregoire, Mr. Thomas Kline, Ms. Beatrice Toohey, Ms. Beth Polick, Ms. Sharmalie  Perera, Ms. Irene Bloomfield, and Ms. Charlene Polomski who served as volunteers helping to ensure a successful competition event.

The Team High Scorers at each competition level were Sudheesha Perera, Jon Julian Minervini and Christopher Kline.

Sunaina Perera was named the Most Valuable Team Player. 

Christopher Kline was awarded the Gold Plaque for the highest scoring decathlete in his level of competition.
