IN SHORT
The Bulldogs came out from the opening whistle like they were blasted out of a cannon on both offense and defense. They took total advantage of several Pequannock mistakes to score the first three touchdowns of the game just seven minutes into the contest. Butler built an insurmountable 38-6 advantage by halftime. Give Pequannock credit for settling down and playing a competitive second half but they never had enough firepower to threaten Butler’s lead. The Bulldogs now have some time to rest before playing a much improved Dover team next.

THEY SAID IT
"All week we were preaching tempo, tempo, tempo. I don’t think anyone is as conditioned as us and we know right out of the gate that we have to execute. We always start quickly. We had to take this team a little bit more delicately because we knew they were a little better than the teams we have faced so far. We treated it like any other game, prepared the same way and came out on top."–Butler’s Michael Tenned

It’s been three weeks in a row. He’s done everything we asked him to do. The team feeds off of Mikey. He’s been starting since his freshman year. When he was a freshman we were 0-10. He knows what not to do. His dad was a Butler guy. He’s a Butler kid. He doesn’t talk. He leads by what he does on the field. The kids realize he’s going to come out like a missile. If we just get him a crease … he’s gone. It’s nice.” -Butler coach Jim Matsakis on Tenned.
