Villa Walsh Softball Defeats Butler

10-run mercy rule ends game in six.

IN SHORT

Villa Walsh pounded out 14 hits against and their offensive surge at the plate was just too much for the Bulldogs, who lost by the 10-run mercy rule, 12-2 in six innings. Butler collected 7 hits themselves, but was never able to string together enough in one inning to put more runs on the board.

OTHER KEY PERFOMANCES

THEY SAID IT

“The hitting on their (Villa Walsh) side got contagious. It just never happened for us. We hit better today than we did previously. We also had a couple of good bunts. We’re still young and being 7-10 is not horrible. I think we’re still doing well considering our youth.” –Coach Brittany Marion.
