Email Spam from Banks

Why don't banks have IT security email addresses on their homepages?

I get my fair share of spam, but the ones that really make me so curious are the ones that say that there was unusual activity in my bank account to a bank that I do not have an account. I do delete most of them, but in the fall, I decided to call one of the banks listed on the spam email and ask to be connected to someone who could give me one of their IT Security email addresses.

I wanted to forward it to them for handling. It took approximately a half an hour to get to the right person in that particular bank and I was thanked for my help and patience in getting the spam to them. The representative said he has never heard of anyone else going the extra mile to do that for his bank. It made me feel good that I was helping. He said he wished others would be as diligent as I was in trying to keep this spam out of the general public's email folders.

Paypal has an email address that I just automatically click on and forward all of those phishing emails. Why don't banks put an IT Security email address or phone number on their websites so that we could report the spam to the particular bank and they could quickly resolve the issue? If this was done, it would make sense that many of these ridiculous spam/scam emails would never reach our spam folder because the email would have never been sent.
