Report: Increase in Holiday Travel Expected

AAA indicates more than 2.2 million New Jersey residents will make a trip of 50 miles or more.

If you're planning to travel 50 miles or more from your home during the year-end holiday period, it appears you are far from alone. According to a report from AAA New Jersey in Florham Park, more than 2.2 million people in the state will be traveling that distance between Thursday and Jan. 2. That projected number represents a 2.6 percent increase from last year's year-end holiday period. "It's great to see so many people taking trips this holiday season," said Rick Zeckendorf, vice president of travel services for AAA, in a release.
