Loveable, adoptable pets from tri-boro animal shelters.
Sophia is a bold, short-haired Russian Blue. She is round and warm and ready to show you who’s boss. Because she’s the “take-control” type, she’s been passed up for adoption more than once. Even though she's got a little bit of an attitude, she still never passes up an opportunity to snuggle. She arrived at the Kinnelon Animal Shelter in July of 2009 and hasn’t been able to find her perfect home since then. Sophia is the Pet of the Week because she is misunderstood and just wants to be loved. Loveable, adoptable pets from tri-boro animal shelters.
Kiki is a lazy, but sweet, short-haired domestic cat with a gray and white mixed coat. She is about one and a half years old. She was abandoned outside the Kinnelon Animal Shelter on a cold day last winter. Although, she was just a kitten, she has survived but can’t find a home. Shelter Volunteer Cheryl Canale said, “I really don’t understand why she hasn’t been adopted, yet.” It is surprising considering how adorable this petite, young cat is. Bloomingdale Animal Shelter tries to adopt out pets before Christmas.
Every year, on Dec. 25, families around the world unwrap red and green wrapping paper to find pajamas, socks, toys and more. But there are some Christmas gifts that do not wear out as quickly as your standard present. Some gifts provide memories that the receiver will treasure for the rest of their life.
