The following was submitted by Rich Dellaripa, communications chair for the Bloomingdale Butler Youth Club. If you have something you'd like to announce to the community, upload it here. On a cold, windy day that saw snow falling before kickoff, the BBYC Bulldog A Squad faced off against the West Milford Gold squad in Woodland Park, with both teams coming in with 9-0 records for the season. Led by quarterback Danny Polons, the Bulldogs team showed their resolve to win early when, on fourth down, Will Verrico ran for 19 yards on a fake punt, keeping the initial BBYC drive alive. Verrico, who ran for 158 yards and one touchdown on 18 attempts, partnered with Austin Mickens, who ran for 65 yards and three touchdowns on 11 attempts, to grind …

A look back at the club's first year after Bloomingdale and Butler merger.
For a long time, the football players in Butler and Bloomingdale were adversaries. It was a friendly rivalry, but the game between Butler and Bloomingdale was one date both squads circled on their calendars. But in February of this year all that changed. The two organizations were finally going to join forces and merge. The BBYC was now formed. As practice began back in August there was an excitement in the air. With the elements as much of an opponent as the Panthers, the Bulldogs were limited to a single trip to the end zone by Alex Orth in the final seconds of a weather-shortened game, as they fell to the eventual D squad Super Bowl champion Panthers, 27-6. After the remainder of the first round of the playoffs was postponed due to the snowstorm, playoff action picked back up in Little Falls, where first C squad faced off against the Totowa Tigers in a rematch of their last regular season game. The Bulldogs were led in the air by quarterback Evan Smith (3 for 5 passing for 45 yards) …

BBYC Bulldogs take on Totowa.
Sunday marked the end of the UCJFL's regular season, with the BBYC Bulldogs traveling to take on the Totowa Tigers at the Totowa PAL's field, where muddy excitement was the order of the day. Once again leading the D squad offense was quarterback Brett Redner, who carried the ball 17 times for 61 yards and a touchdown, in addition to going one for two passing. The defense, charged up after almost shutting Oakland out earlier in the week, and had outstanding efforts by Mark Finelli (9 tackles, 1 for a loss), Alex Orth (1 sack, 6 tackles, 4 for a loss), Mikey Castiglia (4 tackles, 3 for a loss), Matt DiGerolamo (4 tackles) and Saverio Marinelli (3 tackles, all for a loss). But the Tigers took advantage of what time they were given at the end …
