No one was arrested for the incident, but police are investigating.
The Thursday evening burglary of a Glenwild Avenue home is under investigation by Bloomingdale Police. The home's resident reportedly returned home just after 3:30 p.m. to find their home broken into, according to Ptl. Dan Fletcher. Fletcher said that it appeared as though the house's rear door had been forced open and that items were moved and drawers left open in several rooms. It appeared only jewelry was stolen, Fletcher said, but no estimated value for the jewelry was released. The Passaic County Sheriff's Department CSI Unit responded to process the scene, according to the police statement. Anyone with information concerning the burglary is asked to call Detective Sgt. Kinnelon police are investigating an alleged attempted burglary of a Brush Hill Road home that took place on Sunday. According to police, a female resident of the home pulled into her driveway around 9 p.m. and saw two white males standing at the top of the stairs which lead to her front door. Police said the males ran from the scene when they saw the homeowner. The homeowner found tools that did not belong to her by the front door, police said. The Morris County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit responded to track the scent, which was able to be detected to Shore Drive Terrace and then lost, police said. Kinnelon police are investigating a residential burglary reported Saturday on Toboggan Trail. Cash and liquor were reportedly stolen from the home. Police arrived on the scene where the homeowner said that between the hours of 2 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., a person or persons had entered the home and removed the money and alcohol. The homeowner told police nothing was disturbed in the home and that the theft was not immediately noticed. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 973-838-5400.

Kinnelon police are investigating an apparent attempted burglary at the Glenn L. Sisco School on Saturday. Police said Ptl. Melissa Huizenga responded to a burglary alarm at the school, which houses the Kinnelon Public Schools Board of Education offices, and found a door left swinging open. Police searched the building and found that a window screen had been cut and a window was pushed open. The Morris County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Unit and Kinnelon police Det. Sgt. David Crouthamel responded but found nothing to be reported missing. Police determined that it appeared the alarm scared away the individual or individuals involved. Bloomingdale police are investigating a burglary at a Mountain Ridge Road residence in which several pieces of jewelry were reported stolen on June 3. Police responded to the home at 4:25 p.m. where the owner reported that while on vacation, someone or several people had broken a basement window to enter the home and several drawers were found to be entered with several pieces of jewelry stolen. The Passaic County Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene to assist with the investigation, as well as Bloomingdale police Sgt. Robert Ressland, Ptl. Marc Loveland and Ptl. Gary Walker. Bloomingdale police will continue the investigation under Det./Sgt. Steven Caputo. Anyone with information can call 973-838-0158.

Police are asking for community's help in finding 'Spanish-looking' man.
The 88-year-old grandmother of a Kinnelon homeowner allegedly interrupted a Manrodt Court burglary-in-progress Thursday. Police were dispatched at 10:32 p.m. where the homeowner told Ptl. Rickey Ferriola that she had left her grandmother, who suffers from health issues, alone in the home at 9 a.m. When the homeowner returned at noon, the grandmother had asked her who the young man who just left the house was, police said. Woman who fled accident charged with DWI.
Kinnelon police are investigating a burglary that is believed to have occurred on Saturday at a Boonton Avenue home. The homeowner, who had just bought the home, told Ptl. Christopher Mucci that the day before, he had gone to the house and left several power and hand tools in the garage of the home. The homeowner said that when he returned to the house he noticed the tools were taken. Police said the tools are valued at about $200. Resident told police cable television wires were disconnected.
Bloomingdale police are investigating a possible burglary attempt on Clark Street where a resident reported suspicious activity in their home. Police responded to the home at 6:04 p.m. on Thursday where a resident of the home reported a suspicious incident and said that the cable wires to their television in the living room were disconnected. Three Kinnelon police officers were honored for their work with two separate arrests this year.
Three Kinnelon police officers were honored at Thursday's Kinnelon Council meeting, each for having worked diligently during two separate arrest incidents this year. Sgt. Christopher Burns was honored for his work in retrieving a Bushmaster assault rifle, loaded with 22 rounds of ammunition in its magazine and a round in its chamber, from the home of a Kinnelon man who was being served a traffic warrant on Feb. 27.
