Bloomingdale Police Help Lost Hikers

Pair was in Norvin Green State Forest.

The Bloomingdale Police Department helped bring two hikers back to safety on Wednesday after a report they had become lost in Norvin Green State Forest. A report to police at 3:42 p.m. said the pair parked on Glenwild Avenue and entered one of the trails before becoming lost. Volunteer group Bloomingdale Search and Rescue was dispatched to the scene, and at 6:10 p.m. the hikers were safely escorted out of the forest.

Police: Woman Drove Wrong Way on I-287

The police found her car crashed with the airbags deployed, but the driver had fled the scene.

A Dover woman was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when she drove the wrong way on Interstate 287, crashed her vehicle in Parsippany and fled the scene before being apprehended early Sunday morning, State Police said. Natasha Salazar, 19, was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to report an accident, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, obstructing the passage of other motor vehicles, willful abandonment and other lesser motor vehicle offenses, according to State Trooper Christopher Kay, of the Netcong barracks. Driver Taken to Hospital After Glenwild Ave. Crash

Police said vehicle apparently slid on wet roadway.

The driver of a vehicle that overturned on Glenwild Avenue Wednesday was taken to Morristown Hospital complaining of head pain, Bloomingdale police said. Police responded at 11:12 p.m. where they said the driver was already outside the vehicle and complaining of pain. The driver was transported to the hospital by Tri-Boro First Aid Squad and police said the preliminary investigation showed that the vehicle had slid on the wet roadway and turned 180 degrees, going backwards into a ditch and rolling over on the passenger side. Police: Butler Man Suffers Back and Neck Injuries in Crash

Route 23 traffic closed for about an hour Thursday during investigation.

An Butler man was entrapped in his vehicle Thursday after police said he struck a 2003 Dodge Ram from behind at the intersection of Route 23 North and Morse Avenue. Police said they received a call about the motor vehicle accident at about 2:15 p.m., and found 81-year-old Michael Santoro entrapped in his vehicle. The Butler Fire Department was called to the scene and extricated Santoro from the vehicle. Police said Santoro was transported to Morristown Trauma Center for a head injury and the 70-year-old driver of the vehicle that was struck was transported to Chilton Memorial Hospital for neck and back injuries. Police, Fire Officials Respond to Glenwild Avenue Accident

Police said driver lost control of vehicle.

Bloomingdale police and fire officials responded to the scene of a one-car motor vehicle accident Wednesday where police said a 22-year-old Lakewood driver lost control of his vehicle while coming around a curve. Police said Kamar Gainey was driving south on upper Glenwild Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle. His vehicle went off the roadway and rolled over three times, police said, eventually landing on its tires in a driveway on the road. Gainey was uninjured in the accident, but police said fluids had leaked from the vehicle and that the Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department had to be sent to the scene. The vehicle was towed because of the damage, police said.
