Christmas Music Invokes Spirit
Christmas concert at the Community Church of Smoke Rise.
The following is a review of the Community Church of Smoke Rise's Christmas concert on Saturday, Dec. 11 and Sunday, Dec. 12. The non-denominational Community Church at Smoke Rise held a Christmas concert last Saturday and Sunday. The concert included choirs, an organ and a multitude of other musicians performing. The show opened with "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing," played on the organ with a bold, vibrant, room encompassing sound. The choir then processed into position, singing a "Processional Alleluia" by C. Harry Causey. Pastor Brad Smith welcomed one and all to the performance, and reminded the audience that this was a concert, not a service—so applause would both be acceptable and appreciated.
