Credit Card Stolen by Kinnelon Resident's Roommate, Cops Say
Purchases of more than $1,500 were made with the card in the tri-boro area and Wayne.
A Kinnelon man was charged with credit card fraud and theft by deception on Friday after police said an investigation revealed he had stolen and used the credit card of his roommate. Matthew Supel, 20, was sent to the Morris County jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, according to Kinnelon police Lt. John Schwartz. Police said the credit card was reported stolen on Feb. 5 around 3:30 p.m. The owner came into the police station and said that he had paid off the balance of his Citi card on November 10, 2012, but that he had received information indicating $1,569.29 had been charged on the card.
