Accident Leads to DWI Charge for Kinnelon Woman

There was no report of injuries in the incident.

Kinnelon Borough Police report a local woman faces charges including driving while intoxicated following a Sunday night motor vehicle accident on Northgate Road. Sandra M. Lopez, 51, was arrested on charges of DWI, careless driving and not having motor vehicle insurance. At 10:45 p.m., police said Sgt. Joseph Napoletano responded to a call of an accident on Northgate Road. Upon his arrival, he reportedly saw a woman sitting behind the wheel of a 2001 Mitsubishi wagon parked on nearby railroad tracks, and according to a police statement, she appeared  under the influence of alcohol. Drunken Driver Flipped Hummer Over Rt. 23 Barrier On to Car, Cops Say

Vernon man hospitalized after SUV landed on his Volkswagen's roof.

A Vernon man was taken to Chilton Hospital Sunday morning after police said a drunken driver flipped his Hummer over the Route 23 North barrier, landing on the man's Volkswagen. Alex B. Malaquti, 19, of Hewitt, was charged with driving while intoxicated and issued a summons for reckless driving, according to a release from Kinnelon Police Lt. John Schwartz. Schwartz said Sgt. Joseph Fiduccia and Ptl. Nicholas Cifelli responded to a motor vehicle accident call on Route 23 just before 2:30 a.m. to find a 1996 Volkswagen with extensive front damage in the middle of the northbound lane of traffic and a 2003 Hummer flipped over on its roof about 100 yards away in the southbound lanes of the highway. Drunken Woman's Clothes Were Backwards, Cops Say

Kinnelon woman's blood alcohol concentration was nearly three times the legal limit, according to police report.

A Kinnelon woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police said she was driving erratically on Route 23 Thursday, concerning other drivers, and had her clothing on inside out and backwards when her vehicle was stopped. Petrina Horvath, 46, had a blood alcohol concentration of .21 percent when she was arrested and also charged with failure to maintain a lane, reckless driving and operating with a fractured windshield, according to Butler police Capt. Drunk Driver Crashed Into Rock Wall, Cops Say

Police said man's alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit.

A Bergenfield man was charged with DWI Friday after police said his blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit when he crashed his car on top of a rock wall on Fairview Avenue in Butler. Dean Giardini, 52, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent. He was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail with no 10 percent option. Beer Cans Scattered in Car of Drunk Driver, Cops Say

Police said Oakland man admitted to drinking.

An Oakland man was charged with drinking in his car after police said they found several cans of Natural Light beer scattered throughout his Honda Wednesday morning. Henry Pascual, 40, was arrested for DWI, consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and issued summonses for failure to produce documents and not having liability insurance. Pascual's car was stopped by Ptl. Mark Ehrenburg on Route 23 North around 11:30 a.m., according to a report released by Kinnelon Police Lt. John Schwartz. Bath Salts Found in Crashed Car in Kinnelon

A Kinnelon man was arrested on DWI and drug charges after he crashed his car on Brush Hill Road Tuesday, according to police. Lt. John Schwartz said officers found suspected synthetic cathinones, also known as bath salts, in his car. Kenneth Waldrop, 19, was charged with underage consumption of alcohol, possession of controlled dangerous substances and issued several motor vehicle summonses, including for DWI. Schwartz said Kinnelon Police Sgt. Drunk Woman Bloody After Hitting Tree, Cops Say

Hamburg resident faces DWI and drug charges after allegedly driving 30 feet off Boonton Ave.

A Hamburg woman allegedly under the influence of alcohol was found bleeding and unable to answer questions after police said she crashed into a tree 30 feet off Boonton Avenue in Kinnelon Tuesday night. Dorothy Hertz, 29, was charged with DWI, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, having an open container in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, careless driving and reckless driving. An empty beer bottle and a partially empty bottle of vodka were found in her vehicle and a glass pipe with marijuana was found in her purse, police said. Man Ran When Cops Busted Drunk Driver, Police Said

Bloomingdale resident tried to drive away from officer with no lights on.

A Bloomingdale man allegedly attempted to drive away from police before being stopped and charged with DWI Sunday. A male who was leaning into the passenger side window of the car also led police on a chase after fleeing the scene on foot. Police said they were unable to find the male who ran, but the driver of the vehicle, John F. Neill III, 40, was issued a summons for failure to wear a seat belt in addition to the DWI charge. According to police, Ptl. Nicholas Cifelli approached the 2003 Honda O’Neill was driving around 9:30 p.m., at which point the male began to run and O’Neill allegedly attempted to drive away without having his lights on. Cops: Drunk Man Parked in Road, Found Asleep at Wheel

Police said Old Bridge man was blocking driveway with car.

An Old Bridge man was charged with DWI Saturday after police said he was allegedly sleeping at the wheel while his car was parked on a Bloomingdale road. Adam Janczuk, 36, was also charged with and improper parking, police said. According to police, Sgt. Michael Boffa noticed the vehicle was parked in the roadway and blocking a driveway around 3 a.m. Police investigated the parked car and found it to be running with the driver, Janczuk, allegedly asleep at the wheel. Police said Janczuk allegedly showed signs of intoxication and was arrested. He was later released with a date to appear in court.

Butler Man Charged With DWI

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bloomingdale Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 26-year-old Butler man was charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop Friday night. Bloomingdale Police said Thomas Connell was charged with DWI, careless driving and failure to inspect his vehicle following the stop on Hamburg Turnpike. According to police, Ptl. Robert Grabowski spoke to Connell at about 9:20 p.m. The officer detected signs of intoxication and Connell was placed under arrest, police said.
