Bloomingdale Scout Helped Construct Appalachian Trail Bridge

Thomas Tracey earns recognition from dignitaries while representing local Troop 86.

Thomas Robert Tracey was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on July 7, 2012 at the Bloomingdale United Methodist Church. He is the son of Beth and Thomas, and the brother of Sara, grandson of Marilyn and Thomas Tracey of West Milford, and Dolores and Robert Brauman of Pompton Lakes. Thomas is a member of Boy Scout Troop 86 of Bloomingdale. Thomas first began Scouting when he was in first grade as a Tiger Scout with Cub Scout Pack 86 in Bloomingdale. As a Boy Scout with Troop 86, he attended many Scouting events, such as The Klondike Derby, hiking and backpacking trips, campouts, parades and biking trips.  He …

Scouts Honored: Two New Eagles Commended in Kinnelon

Mayor thanks Scouts for their service to the community.

Two new Eagle Scouts, Brennan Weiss and Benjamin Wasserman, were commended for their community service and projects leading to the Eagle achievement during the Jan. 17 Kinnelon Council meeting. Kinnelon Mayor Bob Collins said that achieving Eagle ranking is "a symbol of what a young man has done and what a young man will be." "I just think that it's an incredible honor," he said.
