Footprints were found in the snow near a Lincoln Road home where police said an alleged attempted burglary may have taken place Sunday. Officers responded to the home around midnight after the homeowner said they were out for the night and came home to find a rear window damaged, Lt. John Schwartz said. "Officers found fresh footprints in the snow and determined that the rear window was pried open," Schwartz said. No items were taken from the home and Schwartz said it did not appear as though anyone had actually entered the house. Schwartz said the owner of the home was one of 12 Kinnelon residents who reported their vehicles burglarized on Jan. 7. Kinnelon police are investigating an apparent burglary that was reported on Kiel Avenue Monday at 5:07 p.m. According to police, Ptl. Nicholas Cifelli responded to the home where a friend of the homeowner who had been checking on the pets while the owners were away for the weekend said she arrived at the residence at 5 p.m. and found a glass window in the foyer broken. Police said the friend did not enter the home, but called police immediately instead. The friend had advised police that the home had been left unattended since Friday afternoon. Kinnelon police Det.
