Daisies Learn Restaurant Business in Butler

Troop 4881 prepares desserts after touring the kitchen.

Daisy Troop 4881 took a tour of Applebee's in Butler last Sunday. During the tour, the girls saw the kitchen and walked into the very cold walk-in freezer. After their tour they were able to prepare food, including their desserts. Once they were finished preparing food, they went back out into the dining room and had lunch. The girls had a great time and learned what goes on in the kitchen of a restaurant.

Just to give you a little background about me and my kitchen experience: simply, I don't have any. I avoid the kitchen as much as possible because almost everything I make in there ends up disasterous. However, I have been asked to bring dessert to several family gatherings. Yea, I could have gone to the store and picked up a box of cookies, and, in fact, I often do, but sometimes, I feel like doing something a little bit special. And so I bring you my Pistachio Pineapple Fluff recipe. Basically, this dessert is extremely light tasting (and feeling in your belly), and, although it has a fairly unusual …
