Funny how we get notification from our mayor NOW. I emailed him on Monday, one week after the loss of power, and asked him what he was doing to take care of this problem. Apparently, not much. That mirrors the fact that I didn't get a response from him. My neighbor just spoke to the linemen and they said no power until Sunday. Thank you Mr. Mayor for nothing and your utter lack of communication. I look forward to the next election where we can hopefully removes these lemmings from the town leadership

According to JCP&L, they are not obligated to provide power to us. Really? This was a response to a question about why I still have not seen a single utility truck in the Morris Township area. Power lines are STILL down everywhere, laying across the street. We really need to take some action to get the state to kick this corrupt company out of the state of NJ. They STILL cannot provide any estimates that are meaningful. Where is the accountability? If I don't pay my bill, I'm going to have my credit destroyed by them. I have a 4 month old and I was pretty much forced to buy a generator to survive.

I hope one day we can hold the leadership of First Energy accountable for their negligence.

JCP&L has a PDF on their website with their aspirations for Sunday at midnight. For people in Morris Township, it doesn't look good. 29 people on Friday. 269 on Saturday and about a 1000 on Sunday. Their hope after 6 days is to have 22% restored. Niiice....

I think we as citizens should put pressure on our township leadership to try and get rid of JCP&L, which is a company that investment bankers created. The "synergies" of creating the large corporation are exactly what we get now; fewer crews that know the area and infrastructure, and less re-investment in the existing infrastructure.

We really need to push our elected officials to drive measurable performance out of our utilities. There should be metrics such as # of poles restored by day, # of trees on lines removed, # of miles of cable re-strung. The overall house number is misleading and does not show the true performance of PSEG vs. JCPL. Anectodally, JCPL is far worse than PSEG.

There are reports that non-unions crews were sent away from NJ. If this is truly the case, then these union crews need to be fired permanently and held accountable. It truly is amazing how bad JCPL is.

After school activities are a privelege; just ask all of the home owners in California who now pay extra for any post-school activities. The legal fees will surely cost enough to fund many activities.

Is there any way we can organize a class action lawsuit against the company? Judging from the sorry state of the lines before the storm (i.e., no tree trimming whatsoever), I wonder if there is some form of negligence involved. We should organize something. I would love to not pay my bill, except the only thing that will accomplish is calls from a collection agency and a hit on my credit score.
