Replynow people will realize what a Huge Ripoff this town is... I left years ago and have not looked back. Tired of the flooding, the parking situation, the price gouging. Not worth it. Why.. so I can be "cool" and brag to my friends I live in Hoboken?? I hope people will start to see the trees from the forest, as the saying goes!

ReplyThis situation of Hoboken having its people in food lines and freezing with no power for days is also a good reflection and learning point: rather than investing in serious infrastructure improvements to prevent or mitigate potential floods and power outages, this city has spent the last decade continuing to build overpriced high-rises we dont need more of!!!! The critics were often laughed out of town and no one listened. We DONT NEED more places with $5 lattes, fancy gyms, million-dollar 1br condos, and long lines for Cake Boss. When you poison nature it ends up puking up all that back to us.. and thats what we have. no real modernization of infrastructure. people paying a fortune to live in a shoebox-size apartment with 0 parking spots and No way to get rid of water quickly in a serious flood. What is wrong with this picture?

ReplyI just heard a story that a certain Knicks player makes $200K per day!
EXACTLY whats wrong with this country... we are spending so much money for someone to play ball but not spending on Infrastructure that is outdated and useless in a disaster. Our society cares more about what the Kardashians had for breakfast than how we can invest in seawalls and flood mitigation projects. SHAME ON US AMERICA!

Regardless of the sound bites you here on fox news & msnbc.. the President cannot and has Never "created" jobs. His sole role is to sign laws passed by Congress, and to send the military where needed(the bill paid for by Congress, of course)...
So $2billion and 18 months was spent to listen to which candidate will give you a job and which one is a failure. Anything wrong with this picture??
You know how to get a job... major in a viable and in-demand field, even if its electrician. Then learn to market yourself wisely, do a good job, make yourself known, have a good track record... and in some cased you may have to move where the jobs are. Work while in school rather than take out debt, which will make you poorer later on. But please STOP whining about which "president" will give us jobs!!!
