I agree with as many puppies that are brought to Hopatcong pound there is one of them who is worthy of becoming a K-9 dog. Granted he would never replace Rosco in your hearts but he or she could at least carry on the good works Rosco did. It benefits all around, a job is filled and a pup gets a chance to live on a happy productive life and some joy is brought to a lot of peoples hearts.

I completely agree, I don't know what they were thinking or why they would merge two towns together. I am certain your interest level in Hopatcong is on par with mine regarding Sparta.

The road on Oklahoma Trail is being plowed but it fills right back as fast as the plow finishes. I am glad I am off today and not on 206 north coming up from Bedminster.

This is my first Christmas without my Mom or Dad, they have both passed on Mom passed the end of January this year. I have to be honest, I don't know how I feel, there are so many emotions. I do know that at the age of 52 I feel like an orphan and I am a full grown man. I have no family, never married, my siblings and I have not spoken since Mom' funeral and family on both sides are estranged for reasons I never quite knew. I made it through Thanksgiving by decorating the outside of the house for Christmas, this took up most of my day. I sat down to turkey dinner at 10:30PM it was ... no words. I put up all of the holiday decorations outside and inside since this is really all I know, there' no Christmas shopping to be done so I am at a loss. I did however do some positives I collected toys for needy kids, I put an ad online opening my home to other people alone at the holidays, I am going to a holiday party 12/15 being held by my old bosses, so I guess I am doing what I can to get on through the holidays. Now ask me what I am going to be like come the actual days, I have no clue, the best I can do is take the days as they come.

Try sitting in their trucks sipping coffee or reading the paper or sleeping.

After this debacle is squared away I think it would be appropriate for two things to happen:

    1. Fire the entire existing Administration and get some new blood in there every election it's the same people or the other usual suspects that get elected it's a ridiculous cycle. As you can see, "experience" is NOT always dependent on how many years you have "performed a task".

2 A Class Action suit should be filed against JCP&L and the Board of Utilities if for no other reason than to have it docketed and duly noted as a matter of record.

But what do I know, I am at the "Walk-Away" point, I realize that would do enormous damage to my credit history but at this moment I am not concerned about that issue at all. So if anyone out there is looking for a good deal on a large comfortable home, let me know....

No big surprise here... those guys are sitting around waiting for work meanwhile the guys here are sitting around not working. Sort of balances out in the final count.

Let's talk a home or structure without electric, heat, water or a working sanitation system, doesn't that revoke the CO? Shouldn't that home be declared for all purposes, condemned? Is it just me or does that sound about correct? Does that mean there are 1,900 homes currently in Hopatcong )in addition to those already vacant) I believe that is theoretically an accurate statement. Uh oh.... I sound like a troublemaker, better run me out of town!

I have been advised the Mayor is working the shelter handling out meals. This is a wonderful thing, giving meal to people who are in a place they would rather not be, because perhaps and I say perhaps the very person they are receiving that meal from has not put forth the needed effort (yell loud enough and they will hear you) to resolve the problem that has them there in the first place. Now there's an Oxymoron for you.
