Well said. And thoughts and/or prayers which ever you might believe are no accident. At least the news story will keep her and all those involved in our thoughts and prayers too.

ReplyMJ it's about trying to walk the tightrope of balance. The law has schools investigating everything. I've seen kids investigated because they laughed when a student mocked someone else and had it turn around and back fire on them. The threshold requiring an investigation is low and burdens schools heavily. By the same token, schools need to ensure they are providing a physically and emotionally safe atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Being bullied doesn't fit that description. I've also heard anecdotal evidence that at times those who are "bullied" have actually been the taunters and only cry foul when it turns against them. None of the cases are cut and dry. It makes it very difficult for schools. Parents must make sure they bring it to the schools attention if they feel there is an issue. By the same token, I agree that parents need to be part of the solution as well, I hope in this case both parties can find common ground in that middle.

ReplyThe town's response has been amazing. Most roads except the worst were cleared within a day or to. While other towns were delayed in red tape and trying to decide to approve the work, our DPW did not delay. The night of the storm, I heard some of the first responder calls on a pager and they were scary. JTFD2 averted a disaster at my neighbors house w/ propane tanks leaking after a tree dislodged them. Our town always warming and charging stations up long before many other towns do. One thing I've always told people about living in J-Town. My taxes aren't any higher than most other towns and I have a government that is prudent w/ our funds and I feel I get something for my tax dollar ! Try living in a town where your taxes don't pay for your own police, don't include garbage, didn't have warming centers etc up for days. Our citizens were also amazing through all of this.

ReplyHow is this going to work when there are streets like NY Ave where some homes have power and some don't. There were many streets like this in Prospect Point. I'm not going to say my street has power and then let everyone think that everyone on my street is ok.

ReplyWhy is it the numbers in either these reports or those reported by JCPL make sense.
40% of affected customers restored?
971K highest
756K lowest
22%If JCPL is reporting this number, why isn't the press fact checking? I have no power and I can check that face.
