We need to file a class action law suit against JCP&L! This is an outrage at this point! Day 10, still no power, and the utility pole and downed tree are both still lying in the middle of Alpine Drive in Morris Township. This is so very wrong and there's no end in sight. JCP&L needs to start providing people with an action plan as to when we can expect to get our lives back.

ReplyI live off Khadena too and would like to echo several comments above - the downed tree & utility pole is still lying in the middle of Alpine Drive - it's day 9. Alpine Drive and Valley View residents must drive the wrong way down the "one way" segment of alpine, just to get out. Alpine Drive and other parts of Morris Township have lost power for unacceptable periods of time, 3 different times in 14 months! I know, because that's how many times I've had to empty my fridge! This is positively UNACCEPTABLE in terms of JCP&L's response time & overall maintenance of power lines. Myself and other neighbors call JCP&L every day, reporting the downed wires and COMPLETE LOSS of power - yet nothing has been done. We were told we would likely have power back today (Wed., Nov 7th), clearly that's not happening. Now they're estimating Friday, November 9th - and I don't buy it. JCP&L's estimates are on their website and now say 11:59PM on Sunday, November 11th!!! Are they kidding? To boot, I stayed at the Westminster hotel in Livingston last night and watched 40-50 power company trucks PARKED from 7 PM last night, until 7:30 AM this morning!!!! How is that possible????? I'm not suggesting any one human being work 24 hours straight, but there should be enough manpower to at least have two 8 hour shifts per day going!!! I am imploring the mayor TO DO SOMETHING!!! People's lives are at RISK at this point!!!!

I can appreciate the fact that I still have my home and nobody in my family was injured - however, do NOT tell me NOT to complain! I've lost power for more than 22 days over the last 14 months, and this is directly related to JCP&L's pathetic maintenance of our power lines. In fact, power was restored on Day 11 after Sandy, on Alpine Drive in Morris Township, but the power lines are still lying in the middle of Alpine Drive in Morris Township, rendering the street closed to traffic. It's day 16!! This is NOT OK!!!! I feel horribly for thise who lost more, but please do not minimize the fact that we are all getting screwed by JCP&L!!!!!
