Yes, he should have gone out and stole an AR-15, so he could be like the rest of the pathetic, cowardly Republicans.

The article says that PSEG is taking the lot back entirely, so there isn't a lot to pave. Also the paved section will be gone for HS parking as well. There will now be street parking only and school ave will become a one-way street (with lots of parked cars encircling the pool complex each day).

Yes it's those Liberals who spent us into financial ruin . . . oh, wait, that was morons like Bush (who bankrupt the country through his religious war) and Christie who cost us a BILLION DOLLARS in education aid in just his first year ! And if you are collecting ANY government checks from any program (social security or the like), you're a Liberal too. Hypocrites, racists, survivalists, gun nuts, anti-social, Bible-thumping, hate-mongering, low-brow, . . . have I identified you yet ? Bet I have.

Is Mandarin really the issue here ? In the state of Nj, when your kids are no longer in the school district, you are paying for the next group of kids to go to school. Stop bitching about paying your fair share. Others were paying when your kids were in the system too. Were you bitching than ? Has your house increased in value since your taxes were $4,000. Mr. Brown ? Quit bitching to the rest of us because you just realized how the system works. It has been this way for decades. You've been watching Fox News so long you think that's how the world really works. Take your anger out on someone else.

This guy is still belittling people in his speeches. Very classy, And just because you put up 300 foot powerline towers, doesn't mean that trees aren't going to fall and rip the lines down in the street. Problem with him is he is still an uncompromising bully who thinks we are as dumb as he is. The GOP noise machine rattles on. Now everyone to Walmart for ammo and Exxon for a tank full of Global Warming.

That's not true either John. Over 60% of your taxes go to the joint school system. Sounds like you're elderly and don't understand that suburbia is for families raising kids, like it or not. The elderly always bitch about the school system because they dont have kids in school. Good schools make your home more valuable - no matter which end of town your in.

I have had positive experiences with the police in Chatham as well. Nothing is all bad. But take a look at the group photo for Chatham Twp. on their website. There are over 20 police in this town ! That is ridiculous in these cost saving times. Yet when I asked them several years ago to show a presence at schools in the morning, I was told by the dispatcher that they are "very busy". Just saying, with a large, EXPENSIVE police force, shouldn't we expect more ? Why don't they use community policing ? Because none of them want to get out of their cozy cars to do it. And they'd love us to do their job for them. Did you know that an officer in Madsion quit and sued the dept. because he was actually assigned to walk the beat in downtown Madison and he saw it as a punishment ? A punishment ! I'll tell you what. Give me a fat paycheck with union benefits and I'll walk downtown Madison all day. : ) P.S. how many of our police could you pick out of a lineup ?

Of course, Nixie doesn't really do much when the police don't update it, like this past disaster. And are just mouthpieces for JCP&L's lies. Also, to me, the one glaring thing about living in Chatham is the police departments COMPLETE LACK of community involvement. Not even a cop walking the beat in downtown Chatham or at Shop-Rite. I think community policing is fine, if you are connected in anyway with the community you serve. But I don’t feel we are. Do they sponsor community events so they can shake a few hands ? Does there new phone system have to be so off-putting ?
You can talk all the rhetoric you want. But seriously, after 20 yrs living in the Township, I don't know any of the police, and have NO avenues to do so. Things were vastly different in my town growing up. The police were part of the community they served, and kids were more afraid of the law back then. They knew the police and were afraid to have to face them. But that doesn’t hold true when you are disconnected, and the police don’t seem to care.
Try getting out in the community. Try getting out of your car besides traffic stops. Try waving or saying hello to a homeowner you see outside. It takes two seconds, and makes a world of difference. I for one would love to know our police force. And if I did, I’d be all for helping them police the town or contribute to the PBA annually. But I’m given no reason to do either

Always a warm, welcoming smile when you came to the office at SBS. As a parent, you go through school doors and have alittle anxiety about how you will be greeted as you arrive with questions or need help, and Susan always immediately put you at ease. Really, a fond memory of a truely warm person. So sorry for her husband and family. May you have Peace. Because we so badly need people like Susan in this world these days.
