ReplyJust curious -- can anyone confirm that they are one of the 1,000 who did get power back in Warren? JCP&L reporting seems different from reality.

ReplyPSE&G is doing fairly well at communicating -- at least they send a daily e-mail which describes their progress for the day, and their plans for the next day.
More frustrating than the lack of power is the lack of communications from JCP&L. Daily communication is needed from them. The info on the web-site is days old, and not at all accurate.
Elected Officials -- Please get INFO from JCP&L and pass it on!!

ReplyTaking a Poll....
JCP&L is...
A. Working very hard to restore power to everyone who has lost it

ReplyCurious about the Leonard Lance visit to Warren -- Is he spending his time campaigning here today, or is he there to try to help us get through this disaster? I certain hope an elected official is doing the latter!!!
Warren Patch
Congressman Leonard Lance, R-7th, will be stopping by the Warren Municipal Complex at about 1 p.m. today to meet with residents.

ReplyMy heart goes out to everyone suffering personal losses.
Here are some "facts" about the 2 different company responses -- judge for yourselves:
PSE&G -- I get a daily e-mail describing progress, as well as communicating future plans.
JCP&L -- NothingPSE&G -- Trucks working all over town -- really working!!!
JCP&L -- NothingPSE&G -- Outage numbers steadily decreasing
JCP&L -- Not so muchSame storm, same conditions, 2 different responses -- I think that JCP&L still has Leadership and Communication improvements to be made.

ReplyTo my knowledge, there were no notices left in Windermere, and many of us lost water during multiple periods of time on Sunday. When Customer Service was initially contacted, they knew nothing of an outage or work going on in the area.
During my third call of the day to customer service, they told me that the water would be out until 1 - 3 AM.
This was a planned outage, we should have been informed in advance so that we could plan ahead, and NJ American Water Customer Service should have been prepared with information to relay to customers as they called.
This was our third water outage since February. I know that our Town Council has been discussing Water Quality and Water Hardness with this company, but they also need to campaign for better customer service.

ReplyAbout 10 years back, my glasses were coming out of my dishwasher covered in white "powder". I bought a new dishwasher, but the problem persisted. I took the water to a lab to be tested, and the hardness level was way over the normal range. I got a water softener, which solved the problem, and also cured my child's eczema (never would have guessed that!).
Even with the softener now, my pots and utensils are all white, and only vinegar will get them clean. Thanks for organizing the facebook group. Hopefully, NJ American Water will take action if we all band together!
