The comments here trying to excuse or dismiss the bullying claims are downright sad. It takes unmitigated nerve to claim knowledge about something one was not involved in. Not being in Cassandra's shoes, people should view this story with compassion and understanding; instead I see knee-jerk defensiveness, which speaks volumes about how these commenter's character and adds credence to the claims of bullying.

It's up to each one of us as parents and up to the children as individuals to find productive, fulfilling uses for time. There is much to be accomplished without having to look very hard, or to need have it offered on a silver platter.

For the simple reason that by pure ecomonimics, your choice will limit everyone else's. Gast stations will eliminate or reduce full service to the legal minimum, limiting choice and creating delays and inconveniece for everyone. Your choice will result in a negative impact on everyone and you've said nothing to prove otherwise. Peace.

Spring water is no guaranty of purity, and can be sourced from municipal water sources (that come from springs.) Spring water can contain comtaminants, bacteria and protozoans the same any other water. I think what you meant to say was "Purified water" which is filtered and distilled to remove 99.9% of foreign substances.

I would argue with your assumption that it succeeds in other states and that the citizens were sold a bill of good by garsoline retailers based on promises of lower prices. Everyone I've spoken to from out of state prefers the way we do it (no dealing with weather, waitng for people to go to the cashier becuase they don't have a credit card or the reader is broken or they are shopping, smelly hands. Think about the chaos that would have happened after Sadyetc.) In the balance, I get through full service much faster than I ever got through self serve, unless the station was empty. I'll repeat: There is no valid tangible benefit to self service. I've given you many reasons why it doesn't work; I've yet to hear one good reason why it does. Please do tell.

I don't know what gas stations you go to, but in the 60 mile radius that I commute, I have never waited more than three minutes at the most to get the tank filled. Also, I travel extensively on business and user rental cars. I'm consistently delayed by people who fumble, talk on their cells phones, go to the store while the car is sitting a the pump, you name it. And it's not about paying more for full service, it the empty promise of lower prices. And make no mistake; the minute they allow self-serve, full serve will disppear along with choice. Self serve has no tangible benifit.

Ah, yes. The contuning myth of the benefits of self-service. NJ has plenty of gas stations attached to convience stores; no self service needed. I lived in PA long enough to realize a few things: 1) It takes twice as long to get fuel at self serve because consumers largely do not know how to run the pumps efficiently and don't care about anyone else in line, 2) No smelly hands from spilled gas, 3) Staying warm or cool and dry inside my card during bad weather, 3) We have the cheapest gas in the nation and self serve will not change that, despite the lies from retailers.
The stupid laws were the ones in other states allowing self service.
