On the article Should Mediation Team Fix Neighborly Fights?
Jersey
10:19 pm on Monday, May 20, 2013
ReplyPeople are so jaded and sad. The proposal is for an unpaid group of volunteers. If mediation would prevent trivial matters from going to court, great. If it doesn't work, no harm no foul. A little optimism with a dash of thinking outside the box might just do this town a little good.

On the article Chester Movie Theater Out, Gym In

ReplySad to see the theather go, but honestly haven't been there in years (decades?) as it was never renovated/upgraded to my knowledge. I'm actually excited at the prospect of a large gym with full services - the gyms in the area are small and expensive. Hopefully a larger one can garner more members and be more reasonable.

ReplyI'll give credit where credit is due (which I think happens too little around here). I'm thrilled. Thanks for getting the job done in the projected time period. This bridge closure has been a huge pain for some of us - but I'm glad it's done and over with. And it looks great.

On the article Should Washington Twp. Have a Community Pool?
Jersey
2:02 pm on Monday, April 1, 2013
ReplyMy family moved to Long Valley in the early 80's from a town that had a wonderful community pool. Not only did that pool offer swimming, but it was a hub of community activites - playgrounds, shuffle board for older members, festival days, fireworks on the 4th of July, etc. I missed that pool very much - not only was I unable to swim or dive (which I would have loved to do), but I missed the fun with my family and friends there.
I would absolutely love a community pool in LV. I don't think it will ever happen - we can't even get a YMCA - but it's a nice thought.

On the article Morristown Medical Center Ranked No. 3 in NJ

ReplySeems to me that the report on the Patch was about Morristown b/c it's the go-to hospital for most people in LV - this site isn't NJ-dedicated, but local.
Morristown is amazing. I can't say enough about the care I've received there, or about the care given to my children when needed.

On the article 2% Budget Increase OK'd by Regional School Board

Tar: How on earth is this "taxation without representation"?
The Board of Education is ELECTED. They are your representatives. The fact that you don't like their decision does not mean that there has been a failure for the citizens to be represented. Feel free to try to vote them out next election, it's your right to balk at their budget. But it's ridiculous to say you have no representation. This is a Republic, not a Democracy.
The Tea Party has really done a number on this country's general comprehension of our government structure.

If you've taken the time to look, you'd see that this is no Xercise. Maybe the kids can spend time working out. Not the worst option.
I was skeptical until I saw the virtual tour and class schedule:

Bridgewater and Mansfield are 20 mins away or less. And sorry, but the Chester Cinema wouldn't have closed if they had renovated... No adult I know went there.
