ReplySince the trees belong to everyone according to the Drews, let's cede ownership of all trees to the Drews. that way they will be solely responsible for their care and the destruction they may cause. Ms. Drew believes that Chatham could become a desert. Wow, did she miss 4th grade geography when world climate zones were taught? The great news is I don't live next door to these wack jobs. The Drew neighbors have my sympathy.

I think everyone should be able to break the law once, especially if the infraction is committed accidentally by a great guy. Sound good?

ReplySo if the pedestrian were killed, the investigation would never be closed since she could not be interviewed therefore a summons would never be issued. The hole gets deeper and deeper.

The silence is deafening. I will try to recreate my comment. TC implies there are more facts to this story than what was reported. Instead of speculating, please provide them. If a motorist hits a pedestrian in a crosswalk in Chatham Borough, the driver can invoke the newly established "Colatrella Amendment" to the NJ driving regulations. This amendment states that the issuance of a summons for a moving violation is subject to the discretion of the responding officer. As George Orwell said, "All animals (sic) are equal, but some are more equal than others." Come to think of it, that phrase has a familiar ring to it.

This story has more holes than a moth eaten sweater. Points raised by the naysayers are spot on. How about the author doing some fact checking? The $1,400 10 day trip to Europe is completely bogus. Did she go alone? Did someone pay for her hotels and food? I lived in Central Europe for 20 years and I can assure you that there is more to this story. A simple meal at a sidewalk bistro in Prague will cost $50 minimum. This woman has scrounged for decades, to what end? So when she is old, she can order a kilbasa? Unfortunately, she has missed the point of life. Hopefully she is Hindu and believes in reincarnation. Namaste.
