That is my point, it is already a giant, irreversible mess.

Reply@steven - See here: http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/00000.html The current US population is estimated at 314 million and the native population only makes up 1.4% of that.
@FourScore - That would drive the numbers down even further. My estimates included people who have native and immigrant ancestors. The point is even more drastic that this nation, as it exists, would collapse if we deport all the immigrants as they make up the overwhelming majority (>98%) of the population.

ReplyI've thought about that too, but I worry if we ship all the foreigners back, the economy of this country will collapse and we'd be left with a giant mess. The current US population is over 300 million and the current native population is only about 5 million. At this point, I don't think we would be able to support the infrastructure and standard of living without keeping most of the immigrants here. It is sad to admit though, as so much irreversible damage has been done to our great nation that it is now just a glimmer of its former glory.

ReplyFear not HPL, your contract with my husband is still valid. You know, the one where he regularly keeps books at least a week or two past due and ends up paying as much as if he brought the book used.
I'm just glad to know that we are supporting the local library. Wonder if I can write this off on my taxes.... :-)

What? It is illegal to text and drive at the same time. Full stop.
There is no excuse if you feel that you are devoting 80% attention to driving and only 20% to texting. You must be either 100% driving/0% texting or vice versa. End of story.

I disagree that Rutgers needed to go public with the tape. The tape alerted them to a situation, which they then fixed through fines, suspension, mandated anger management, and zero tolerance going forward.
If, for instance, a married couple suffers an infidelity and goes to couples counseling to work through their problems and successfully repair their marriage, should they need to report what happened to all their friends and family?
I'm very uncomfortable with the comparisons with Penn St. that are flying around. First, it should be obvious that the situation at Rutgers was no where, and I mean no where, near as abhorrent as what went on at PSU, but secondly, there was no cover up as there was at PSU. If there was, then Rutgers would have tried to make a deal with the ex-employee that was attempting to blackmail them.

Oh okay. I took it to mean that Kean was asking what was wrong with the mentality of his/her neighbors and I was wondering which comment that was directed at, since there seems to be universal disapproval of Rice's actions. Perhaps you are right that Kean could be lamenting Barchi's mentality.

Who championed the Common Core Curriculum? Was it Reagan or earlier? I remember we had those when I was in high school.
