ReplyI just called the governor's office and gave a 10 minute detailed report on what I've seen (or haven't seen from JCPL) in Morristown and specifically my area. I also recounted the falsities of numbers posted. The person I spoke to said that the governor is being given a report of all such calls coming in today and will chose how to move forward in regards to the utility companies. Not sure what it'll do, but instead of simply posting your tribulations here like I have, please try to call as well. The more people they hear from, the harder we are to ignore. the number is: 609-292-6000

I couldn't go to town hall today to complain in person due to work...but if you're able to please do so. complaining in person will help. This is ridiculous that majority of windmill pond has had power and our few homes have been without for 8! with no trucks or crews to be seen near Headley or Ledgerwood. If you can, please go complain in person.

I just called the OEM to complain about the downed trees. Was told by a JCPL operator on the phone last night that since only a 100 or so homes were associated with that downed line, I shouldn't hold my breath to get power back any time soon. JCPL has numbers to post and they'll be trying to get the larger affected areas done first.

CSS- saw that. Called them about every downed line. The person on the line said they had all 4 that I called about. Apparently they are supposed to restore 22% more percent by tomorrow in Motown. Wonder if that's true. They won't tell me which line is contributing to my outage. They don't have that info. Seems like something the electricity company should knkow? I am staying with family in a pseg area who got their lights yesterday. This morning I've seen 17 trucks go by for that company. Since sandy hit till yesterday hadn't seen 1 single crew from jcpl in my neighborhood.

ReplyHas anyone seen any JCPL crews working around Windmill pond in MoTown? I'm one of the few houses in windmill pond that doesn't have power. I've called JCPL every day to inquire and they can't tell me why just our few houses don't have power while the majority of the neighborhood does.

So I lived in New Orleans and have survived many hurricanes including Katrina. The electricity company there was awesome. Yes power goes for days. but the company there would have people in a call center the day of the storm hitting to take calls. the website would be up and running. we would get accurate information to prepare. when they said I would get power back in three days, I would get power back in three days. they were prepared and helped me prepare. Always had crews on the ground. Irene was nothing compared to the hurricanes I've lived through, so if a utility company can serve the millions of people in the city of new orleans through those storms why can't JCPL serve us through two "major" not "storms of the century"? I know we'll lose power. but there's no reason for JCPL to not prepare. why aren't they hiring more crews in this area? why aren't call centers set up ahead of time? why wasn't the website working when the storm hit? These are all things that customers deserve - why? because we pay for it!!!! I got great service through hurricane after hurricane....why can't i get it up here?
