Wasn't it the Woods development that started the complaints but then rejected having a water tower put in their development.

ReplyCalls to Harrington Construction and Gil Taylor were not immediately returned... Why didn't you try the mayor and town council for a response?

ReplyIf there is more water in the valley, connect the valley and the mountain system together. It can probably be done in less than 7 years which is a disgrace. Nice work WTMUA. You allow the new housing, receive new revenue and don't provide adequate service for 7 years. Now, you threaten the valley with water restrictions...unbelievable.

ReplyWhy do you say "Just 26 of 209 will receive help"? I am sure FEMA has guidelines and 26 met those guidelines. Should FEMA just pay all the claims or is 50% the right amount? Were schools closed for two weeks because of the "devastation" or were they closed because of power outages that JCP&L ignored for 2 weeks?

ReplyI totally agree. Taxes are already out of control and even small increases by the town, county and especially the school budgets make Long Valley real estate more unattractive.

ReplyAgain, another disappointing decision forced down our throat by the BOE. Why can't there be a representative of the taxpayers on the board. Just some balance would be nice.

ReplyClosing a school and lowering our taxes should be the school board's job based on the drop in students. If parents want full day kindergarten they can pay for the extended program that is available now...

jesscott, your argument about using 50% less water will reduce your bill by 50% is wrong. Your WTMUA bill is for water and sewage. They keep the sewage rate portion at @ 80% of the bill so reducing your water usage does very little. The issue is that it has been 7 years of restrictions and frankly, nothing has been done.
