ReplyMaggie. Isn't it a bit self-centered to think you are now exempt from school taxes because you "paid your dues". These kids belong to our entire community. What about people who don't have children at all? Why should they pay school taxes using your logic? Why should I pay social security to support the senior citizens who are getting it now, not even knowing if there will be anything left for me?

ReplyYou get what you paid for. The outsourcing company provides lousy subs. My child had a sub English teacher in the high school for the first half of the year. The woman literally taught nothing and they basically were on their own during the class. Then she gave everyone A's on the tests and admitted out loud that no one deserved the A. What a waste of half of a high school year. And this was the year the kids were taking SATs!

ReplyHow about spending more time making sure we get the right teachers and subs in the schools. One of the HS had an English sub for half the year who didn't teach them anything and gave out A's admitting there was no basis for it. What a joke. Half a year down the tubes.

ReplyIf the ordinance states that a lot must be 30K feet, then why are they going against that with their 16 and 14K proposal? Sounds like a greedy, money-making scheme at the expense of the neighborhood. Shame on them

ReplyI can't even get through to a live body at JCPL to get any updates. Their customer service dept message always says, "currently closed". Meanwhile PSEG is telling Lake Dr folks that they'll be back up tomorrow. What's wrong with this picture.

ChrisT's comment is spot on. Things would have been very different if this incident/accident happened to a "non-famous" local kid. He broke the law. Why would anyone be so protective? Drinking and driving and leaving the scene of an accident and then hiding isn't exactly behavior we should expect from anyone.
