ReplyI hope all the passengers are OK. I hope the parents of these passengers find the time to talk to their children about how foolish they were and, at the same time, how lucky they were.

ReplyChristie would be a lot more believable if he just wasn't always targeting the middle class. How about going after the corporations not paying taxes? So there are problems with the unions but why is it that the middle class always has to give back? Do you see the banking industry giving back after the five year recession they caused?

ReplyIt is wrong for the Patch to print articles that are advertisements without marking them as such.

ReplyBig deal!! How long did it take them? 6 years to achieve 90% sale of their overpriced homes? How is this even newsworthy or is this and advertisement for Hovnanian?

ReplyI would love a middle end store. While I love my Nordstrom, I really miss the likes of Sterns, Korvettes and JM Fields. Is there some type of store that can fill this niche? I used to like shopping at Sterns because of all of its housewares. We don't need another Short Hills mall here and, anyway, that mall is not that far away!!

ReplyI agree with everything the author stated. As a practicing Jew who has seen three children attend WHRHS, this won't be the last time that there is an event on a Friday evening. The beginning of Shabbat, which is will be after the graduation ceremonies, is no reason to penalize the students, their parents, and extended family by having a 10am service which will force everyone to take a day off from work. Also, there will be NO Project Graduation because no student will come back to the high school at 9pm after graduating at 10am. This is a disaster in the making and the BOE and administration is determined to force this graduation time down our throats regardless of the students' opinions and the parents' pleas.
I guess we have now entered the new era of the WHRHS administration and BOE because they no longer have to act as if they care about the residents and parents of their districts. They don't need us to approve their budgets anymore. They are now showing their true colors by telling us all to shove it.

All the WHRHS parents should take note of this for the next budget vote as the BOE and administration is using our money to do whatever they please and telling us to shove it!!

You should know that this class is smaller than the class of 2011 by about 25 students. I don't believe that 2011 was the school's largest class either.

My taxes have more than doubled since I moved here in 1992 and I can tell you that my salary has not. In that time, there has been tremendous growth adding more ratables every year, but nothing has stopped the huge increase in taxes. It seems every time three houses are built, they add three staff positions to the schools. Also, maybe I am the only one who thinks this, but the whole idea of a principal and 5 vice principals at the high school, a large of education staff has got to be the biggest waste of money. The school will defend itself by telling you how high they are rated. Well, I can tell you that it is not because of the staff. The kids who go to that school are very intelligent. Try getting those high ratings with the your same staff at Malcolm Shabazz.
Lastly, there is no incentive for the committee members to keep taxes low as they are voted in every year no matter what and stay for 20+ year terms. People vote the same party no matter what happens. Born to a Republican family, vote Republican. Same for the Democrats. Warren residents vote Republican and have yet to realize that the the two party system doesn't make a difference in a municipality as small as this. I see taxes going up every year. Doesn't sound like the National Republican Party to me.
