ReplyDay 5 and we are seeing little to no action on power restoration in Hopatcong. I understand that this was a huge storm and can accept that we are out of power. What I am having a problem with is the lack of information we are getting from JCP&L and our local town officials. It has to be more at this point than just trees down around town. If we were being provided with more than "We hope to have power restored by next Wednesday" it would allow residents to make plans to get out of town. I called Gov. Christie's office and asked for help with getting in touch with a human at JCP&L. I would ask that everyone who is reading this to call his office and ask to get more information from JCP&L and to start to acknowledge that there are other areas in the state that were affected by Sandy also. ReplyLets get this straight under this current Board of Education, we the taxpayers are paying attorney fees for the following: revoked teacher contract because the Board tried to SNEEK certain items into an agreed and ratified contract, fees related to a PE teacher alleged inappropriate relations with students, ESP contract which is going on year 2 I believe, the disappearance of a HS math teacher must have cost us something.
How long are we, the taxpayers, going to allow this current Board of Education to waste out money??
Please attend the Board of Education meeting on Monday 9/24 and demand answers as to how our tax money is being spent!!
Please remember to vote in November and remove this current Board of Education. -

I give Dr. Maranzano a tremendous amount of credit for stepping up to the plate and taking action against the poor behavior of the staff that has been acting as if they were still in high school rather than teachers and administrators. When Dr. Maranzano took over two years ago, he was handed a district that has been on a downward spiral for years! What took many years to break, will take years to fix! At least he has the courage to face the real issues that are plaguing our district, primarily the high school that has been led by Emil Binato, with the assistance of Dave Pierson, and Tom Vara.
When reading this, please keep in mind that we have MANY wonderful teachers and administrators though the district that really care about our schools, children and town! Unfortunately, the good are being overshadowed by the bad! I hope that Dr. Maranzano continues to probe, un-cover and resolve issues that are occurring in our district! -

ReplyTake the blinders off and check the tapes of her PE classes for the entire school year and watch how many times she uses her cell phone during class. Watch her actions actions during class and fill me in on when she is actually teaching- NEVER! Enough for now but plenty to come.

Thank you to Dr Maranzano for keeping updated after Sandy. He was the one person that gave us regular updates as to the status of what was going in town. Keep in mind he was the ONLY one using the emergency system! Kuddos to him!
