Photos: Bloomingdale Fireworks Back With a Bang

After being cancelled last year, display returns to Walter T. Bergen School.

A large crowd filled the field at Friday night for the fireworks display. Many of those in attendence played on the rides, ate cotton candy or played games waiting for the display to begin.

During election season, Democrats Ray Yazdi and John D'Amato campaigned with a promise to bring back events that were canceled, like the fireworks, if elected.

The fireworks were brought back at a cost of approximately $5,000, or $2 for each borough home, Yazdi said.
